A Karryfield International School Pupil, Miss Ode Isabel Hembadoom, has emerged as the Overall Best Female Candidate in the 2024 Loyola Jesuit Colleges Common Entrance Examination, out of the over 2000 candidates that wrote the examination.
In recognition of this highly distinctive academic performance, the Board of the Loyola Jesuit Colleges has granted her the 2024 Loyola Scholarship of Excellence Award.
It is important to recall that, Miss Ode Isabel had earlier written the 2023 Loyola Jesuit Colleges Common Entrance Examination in Grade 4 and was successful. She became the second pupil of KIS to have passed the entrance examination in Grade 4, following in the footsteps of Mr Tobenna Nwabukwu who was the first pupil to achieve this feat in 2022.
The decision of Miss Isabel's parents to not accept the admission in 2023, but allow her complete Grade 5, which is the terminal class in KIS, is part of the factors that contributed to her passing the entrance examination in 2024 at such a high level that earned her the scholarship award.
It is also noteworthy that, out of the 17 KIS pupils that registered and wrote the Jesuit Colleges entrance examination in Grades 4 and 5, 13 were successful. This represents about 76% success rate.
This year's performance is in keeping with the culture of outstanding academic excellence for which KIS has always been known since inception.
It is in the light of these highly distinctive academic achievements by our pupils that, as a school, we say a resounding "Congratulations!" to Miss Ode Isabel Hembadoom, the other 13 successful KIS pupils, and the entire Karryfield International School Community.
